* CONNECTION CONUNDRUM *

Homework Assignment
1) Post a comment on "The English Forum" by Sunday night.
2)  Write a special tribute* for Andrew -- something that praises him both for his speech and for what he is as a person. Write it with careMake it at least an 8-sentence paragraph, and something he will truly enjoy looking at and reading on the "9th Grade Speech" bulletin board. Print it out and bring it to class tomorrow. No wrinkles allowed.

*tribute: a statement that is intended to show gratitude, respect, and/or admiration

Lesson Objectives
Today you will learn (I hope) ...
about selecting a passage from a novel to read aloud.

The Steps of the Lesson
* Let's collect your tributes for young Andrew, the great speech-maker.
Then, let's take a look at my daily paragraph, written early this morning in about 40 minutes.
* Next, let's look at your posts on "The English Forum"
* Next, let's look through TOTC to find a passage that you would like to read aloud in France. Of course, this should be a passage that you like a lot, but it should also be one that's important to the story. The passage should be at least half of a page but no more than one page. Each student will have to read a different passage, so let's check with each other as you look for passages.

As you leave my classroom,
be sure to thank someone
for helping us have a good English class.
