Tonight ...
1) Make three significant revisions on Essay 5. Be sure they are revisions that genuinely enhance the writing. I will grade these revisions tomorrow, and low grades will be given to revisions that do not make the writing significantly better. (Take a close look at MARCCRT again to prepare for this homework.)
2) Read TOTC, p. 19 to bottom of 24, and do the usual mindful reader tasks.
Tomorrow night ...
1) Make significant comments on your partners' drafts of Essay 5. Be sure to write one specific compliment and two specific suggestions. These will be graded on Wednesday, so do a very careful job.
2) Finish reading TOTC, Ch. 4, and do the usual mindful reader tasks.

Steps to reaching the objective(s):
1) Look at the revisions on one of my paragraphs.
2) Look again at MARCCRT.
3) Read the start of TOTC, Ch. 4, looking for effective and powerful writing.
4) Assignment for Period 6: In the library, read to bottom of p. 24, highlighting one example of effective or powerful writing on each page. Then, on a sheet of loose-leaf paper, write out each sentence and explain, below it, why you think it's effective and powerful writing. Bring these to my classroom art the end of the period and leave them on my table. I will grade them tomorrow morning.
